optimal media supports associations and initiatives in the region

Presentation of donations

optimal media regularly supports associations and charitable initiatives in the region. The company’s employees can submit suggestions as to who should receive support and, traditionally, the donations are handed over at the beginning of the year. In the past few days, the following five associations and initiatives each received a donation of 1,000 euros.

Müritzer LSV 04

The Müritzer LSV 04 from Waren is a small sports club that organises several fun runs every year and attaches great importance to children’s and youth work. Here, children from the age of 5 are taught the joy of sport and exercise. Training is offered twice a week and they regularly take part in competitions. The association would like to invest the financial contribution in a high jump facility and for the purchase of training suits.

Förderverein Kinderhospiz Leuchtturm e.V.

The Förderverein Kinderhospiz Leuchtturm e.V. has been in existence since 2010 and the outpatient children’s and youth hospice service since 2013. The focus of the work is to accompany and support children, adolescents and young adults with life-shortening illnesses and their families. To this end, 32 family companions are actively involved on a voluntary basis in the districts of Vorpommern-Rügen, Vorpommern-Greifswald and the Mecklenburg Lake District. Their work is primarily about making everyday family life as easy as possible and being there for the sick children, but also for their siblings or people from their private environment.

The association has only one permanently employed coordinator and receives only very limited financial resources. The donation will be used, among other things, to fulfil the last wishes of the sick children and to make everyday life easier for the families.

Buchholzer Knieperdackse

The „Buchholz Knieperdackse“ is one of only three remaining groups in Mecklenburg Vorpommern that maintain a traditional Christmas custom. On Christmas Eve, the group, consisting of Father Christmas and six other costumed figures, goes from house to house in Buchholz. The historical tradition of this custom is about demanding tribute – i.e. recognition – from the inhabitants. The residents can „buy their way out“ by giving money or drinks, for example, and thus gain the goodwill of the Knieperdackse. They will use the financial support to renew their equipment and much-needed utensils.

Förderverein der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Altenhof

The „Förderverein der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Altenhof“ (Altenhof Volunteer Fire Brigade Support Association), which was founded in December 2018, is committed to supporting its local fire brigade and youth fire brigade.
Its tasks include public relations, organising events and promoting cultural life in the community. The amount provided is to be used for purchasing a thermal imaging camera.

Müritzer für Tiere

„Müritzer für Tiere“ is a voluntary, private initiative that works together with many volunteers. The focus of the commitment is to help people who are in distress with their own pets or other animals and to care for abandoned animals. The initiative depends on material donations for this.
