Scorpions
BMG Rights ManagementExclusive optimal media book
With over 60 years of history, the Scorpions from Hanover are among the most internationally successful rock bands. Founded in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker and defined by the distinctive voice of Klaus Meine, the German band evolved from a 1970s hard rock act into a global phenomenon.
Over 20 studio albums and more than 100 million data carrier sold underscore their extraordinary success. With global hits such as “Wind Of Change” and “Rock You Like A Hurricane”, they have written six decades of music history, which they celebrate with their album “From The First Sting”. The album brings together their most successful songs from various creative phases and offers a concise overview of the band’s musical development. It was released as a limited edition, including a high-quality optimal media book.
For our client BMG Rights Management, we produced an exclusive media book as a thread-stitched hardcover in vinyl record format. The cover was laminated with a scratch-resistant soft-touch film and finished with a silver cold foil transfer and partial gold UV spot varnish.
Inside is a 40-page thread-stitched book block, along with two swinging pockets for the two 12inch vinyl records, which were produced as S340 Sparkle/Starlight. The U3 also features an integrated black disc holder, providing secure storage for two gold-coloured CDs.
“From The First Sting” contains a selection of the band’s most successful tracks, along with extensive photographic and accompanying material, forming a carefully and lavishly designed retrospective of one of the world’s most influential rock bands.
