Impressions from 46th Midem

3. February 2012

Just back from Cannes, our International Sales Team consisting of Rufus Kalex (Head of International Sales), Carl-Marcus Gidloef (Sales Manager Sweden) and Kim Nørskov (Sales Manager Optimal DK Aps) have reported on the positive atmosphere at the Midem. Even if the biggest music fair has considerably shrunk in surface area compared to past years, this did not stand in the way of a constructive exchange between members of the industry. Discussions were extremely results-oriented, and well-filled appointment schedules made up for the continual rain. The unanimous impression of our sales trio was that the Midem continues to be an excellent platform to make and cultivate contacts.

Optimal’s presence at the joint Scandinavian booth and the Nordic “get-together” was also in ideal opportunity to introduce Kim Norskov, the new addition to our sales team, already known to many in the industry as our Head of Sales Playground Music.  We will continue to expand our service activities in the Scandinavian market and are excellently positioned for this strategic orientation, says Rufus Kalex. Despite the declining market trend in the data media sector, the physical product is definitely not considered a marginal issue. According to Rufus Kalex, special packaging including vinyl production was discussed with keen interest.

Anybody unable to meet us at the Midem is cordially invited to visit us at our premises in Röbel on Lake Müritz and find out more about our service portfolio.
