Since their formation in 1985, Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub have been a style-defining force in the German indie and alternative rock scene. With their idiosyncratic mix of post-punk, avant-garde pop and the charismatic vocal duets of Phillip Boa and Pia Lund, the Dortmund band has achieved international recognition. Their creative diversity has resulted in 20 studio albums to date. Boaphenia“, released in 1993, is still regarded as an artistic milestone today – atmospheric, multi-layered and trend-setting for an entire generation.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the album, we have realised a lavishly designed special edition for our customer Universal Music. The exclusive deluxe version appears as a high-quality, thread-stitched hardcover. An optimal media book in earBOOK format with 52 pages. The cover has been finished with a robust, scratch-resistant matt foil. Inside are numerous previously unreleased photos and the remastered original album, supplemented by a wealth of bonus tracks and previously unheard material – including twelve brand new songs. Two of these tracks contain original vocal tracks by Pia Lund, which have been carefully integrated into new compositions in the studio.

The complete musical oeuvre is spread over four CDs, which are fixed to the U2 with the help of a black-coloured carrier. The edition also includes a printed disco bag, which has been stuck onto the U3 and contains an exclusive black 10-inch disc with six special recordings. The set is rounded off with a signed autograph card in earBOOK format.
With a total of 59 tracks, this anniversary edition offers an impressive retrospective of the artistic work of Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub – a musical synthesis of the arts for collectors, enthusiasts and all those who are passionate about the history of German alternative rock.
