History and development

Get to know us

Our story starts in 1990 with 12 employees passionate about printing T-shirts and producing CDs. We have since grown to over 700 employees and expanded our expertise to the production and distribution of printed material and data carrier.

1990

The >>optimal<< Tonträger-Produktions-Gesellschaft mbH is founded

1991

Audio CD production commences

1995

Vinyl record production commences in Röbel/Müritz

1997

sector5 in-house audio mastering studio opens

1998

Printing plant & service centre opens: printing plant for multimedia packaging and printed material

1999

DVD production commences and the press9 DVD authoring studio opens

2001

International logistics & fulfilment centre opens

2002

Service centres open in Berlin and Hamburg

2006

Service centre opens in Stockholm and optimal UK London is established

2008

Print & media centre opens and Blu-ray Disc production commences

Rebranding as optimal media GmbH

Expansion of Blu-ray Disc production, printing plant and print processing services

Expansion of print shop, print processing, and logistics and storage capacity

Book production put into operation, making optimal media the largest full-service printing company in Northern Germany
